Ramsdale is expected to complete his medical with the Saints to ensure the transfer can be completed before the deadline.
Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is on the verge of leaving the club and signing a contract to newly promoted club, Southampton ahead of the deadline day. As per reports, the Gunners have agreed to a £25m deal to sell their backup goalkeeper.
The Englishman was included in the PFA Team of the Year in the 2022-23 season and was a key figure before David Raya joined the club on loan last season.
Last season was a downfall for him as Arsenal preferred David Raya as main goalkeeper. They also gave the Spaniard a new contract and assured that Ramasdale is not in future plans.
As per Sky Sports, Ramsdale is set to move to Southampton before transfer deadline. Southampton have agreed a deal with the North London club worth £25m for his services.
It is added that the clubs are now in the final stages of discussions. The 26-year-old shot-stopper is expected to complete his medical with the Saints to ensure the transfer can be completed before the deadline.
Ramsdale wants to play regular football after making only 11 appearances across all competitions last season. The Gunners have already identified his replacement in the form of Espanyol shot-stopper Joan Garcia.
