Aaron Ramsdale was a late call-up to the Three Lions squad for Euro 2020.
Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is hoping to be England’s number 1 goalkeeper at the next FIFA World Cup which is scheduled to happen in Qatar in 2022. England was the runners up of EURO 2020 as they suffered a loss against Italy in the penalty shootout. The Englishman was a late call-up to the Three Lions squad for Euro 2020.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper served as back-up for Jordan Pickford in Euro 2020. Arsenal keeper is hoping to replace the Everton goalkeeper next year.
Ramsdale told the AFC Wimbledon website about Euro 2020, “I keep saying it was a great lad’s holiday. That’s just the team spirit we had, and we were just a few kicks away from achieving something great.”
“It’s just added momentum and hunger to do well in the World Cup and hopefully I can be a part of that again and hopefully that’ll be to do with a starting role.”
