Raya started his club career with Blackburn Rovers after spending time in the youth team. On 6 July 2019, he was signed by Brentford for a fee in the region of £3 million. He established himself as the club’s first-choice keeper in the first few months of the 2019–20 season.
Raya completed a season-long move to Arsenal last summer from Brentford and played second fiddle to first-choice goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. But the Spaniard started four of the last five games, including their Champions League opener and the North London derby.
Although Ramsdale is waiting in the wings, Mikel Arteta is yet to confirm publicly who is Arsenal’s No.1 goalkeeper. During the season 2023/24, he remained the first-choice goalkeeper for Arsenal.
