We have agreed that Victor Ozhianvuna, who turns 18 in January 2027, will join us from Shamrock Rovers of the League of Ireland Premier Division.

Since making his debut earlier this year, the 16-year-old forward has already demonstrated exceptional talent at the senior level, earning 16 first-team appearances for Shamrock Rovers across all competitions.

Victor entered the game as a substitute in Shamrock Rovers’ second-leg intermediate stage match against Molde FK in February, making him the second-youngest player to ever appear in the UEFA Conference League.

A couple of months later, he scored his first goal in a victory over Wexford FC in the FAI Cup second round. Victor has earned nine appearances for his nation at the under-15 and under-18 levels as a Republic of Ireland youth international.

Shamrock Rovers confirm record-breaking €2m move to Arsenal

Shamrock Rovers and Arsenal have stated that a deal has been reached for the January 2027 transfer of Victor Ozhianvuna.

The club has described the agreement as a “landmark transfer in Irish football and a template for the development of top young football talent in the country.” The sum is estimated to be €2 million plus add-ons. He legally agrees to his precontract move, making him the most costly export from the League of Ireland.

Ozhianvuna, 16, has been a member of the club since he was six years old and plans to remain there until he becomes eighteen. According to Brexit law, an Irish player cannot sign for a UK team until they are eighteen.

The young Irish player has participated in Conference League games since making his Rovers debut against Bohemians in the season’s first game.

James Ellis, the head of recruitment at Arsenal, and Stephen McPhail, the sports director of Rovers, have been in regular communication for a number of years as they discuss how to best develop a youngster of Russian and Nigerian ancestry in the coming years.
