According to sources, Arsenal is trying to stretch their budget this summer by arranging a loan deal for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo. Six new players have already arrived at the Emirates Stadium, making the Gunners one of the busiest clubs in the Premier League this summer.

Mikel Arteta and sports director Andrea Berta have added Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, and Viktor Gyokeres after the team finished as the Premier League runners-up for the third consecutive season.

In order to finalize another deal before the end of the transfer window, Arsenal is now trying to move on some marginal players this summer.

According to reports, there may be space for another attacker in the shape of Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, although Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze has been strongly connected as Arteta looks to open up defenses for the upcoming campaign.

Last week, the Times reported that Arsenal is still considering the idea of bringing in two new attackers before the September 1 transfer deadline.

Arsenal eyeing Rodrygo as fallback option to Eze

Nearly £200 million has already been spent by the Gunners on new players, and player sales may determine the availability of other recruitment. One of their main targets is Eze. Palace might still get him at the right price even if his £68 million release clause has lapsed.

We just do not see how Arsenal will be able to afford Rodrygo if they are unable to finalize an agreement for Eze. Since the Gunners are plainly looking for a deal to get the former, they are unlikely to spend more money this summer to acquire Rodrygo from Los Blancos.

The Gunners will thus have a hard time closing the transaction unless they can recover a large amount of money from a sale. Their chances of acquiring Rodrygo are minimal because it has been reported that Manchester City is planning to make a move for the Brazilian this month.

While James McAtee and Savinho appear to be close to joining Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur, respectively, Jack Grealish has already moved on loan to Everton. Given the triple exodus, City may be able to make a high-profile approach for Rodrygo.
