According to The Athletic, Arsenal has “discussed” the prospect of acquiring Ademola Lookman, a star for Atalanta. In order to strengthen the center-forward position, the Gunners are reportedly preparing to restructure the front line this summer and are getting closer to signing Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres.

Arsenal has been connected to Rodrygo Goes, Anthony Gordon, and Eberechi Eze in an effort to strengthen their left flank. Nonetheless, it has been proposed that the Gunners could pursue a new No. 10 in addition to the frontline.

Arsenal has reportedly “discussed” the potential of signing Lookman, according to The Athletic, but a transfer is now improbable since they don’t want to match Atalanta’s price.

In order to repel possible suitors, La Dea, who are fierce negotiators, typically place enormous price tags on their star men’s heads. The forward’s current contract is slated to expire in 2027, and they are asking about £52 million for him.

Arsenal want to sign Ademola Lookman in €50 million-plus deal

Since moving from RB Leipzig to Atalanta in August 2022, Ademola Lookman has stabilized. The 27-year-old’s loan stints with Fulham and Leicester City were unsuccessful, and he was unable to contribute at Everton or RB Leipzig. But in the past three years, he has advanced significantly, leaving his stamp on La Dea at various points.

It makes sense that Arsenal is interested in Ademola Lookman. In light of their increasing reliance on Bukayo Saka, the Gunners are searching the market this summer for a prolific attacker. Arsenal could need someone like Lookman because Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard haven’t been productive enough over the past two seasons.

The North London team must, however, close a value difference because Atalanta is asking almost €60 million to let go of the former Everton winger. Arsenal, meanwhile, plans to pay an initial €50 million “plus some bonuses” to acquire Lookman’s talents.

It is uncertain if the Serie A team will agree to let go of the 27-year-old Nigerian international during the summer transfer window for a base cost of €50 million. However, a summer deal might be in the works because Lookman is apparently eager to leave Atalanta.
