Despite recent rumors that he was considering a move to Besiktas, Arsenal striker Leandro Trossard will stay with the team. Although the Turkish window is still open until Friday, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Belgian international has no plans to leave the Emirates.
As they continued their recruitment efforts, the Turkish club was reportedly exploring a move for the 30-year-old. Rumors circulated that Arsenal may lose a veteran attacker when the English transfer market closed, even though their domestic deadline was still open.
But Romano has provided clear clarification on the matter. According to him, Trossard has “no chance” of relocating to Turkey. The club’s determination to retain him in Mikel Arteta’s plans for this season is demonstrated by that position.
Romano not only denied leave speculations but also provided information about Trossard’s new contract. It has been claimed that the attacker has accepted a new contract with Arsenal that would increase his salary but leave his current contract in place until the summer of 2027.
Arsenal have agreed a Deal for 30 year old forward
According to the Turkish publication Sozcu Spor, the Istanbul team has made a £19.1 million proposal for the winger. The North Londoners haven’t replied to Besiktas yet, though. Given that the transfer window in Turkey doesn’t end until September 12, Sergen Yalcın’s team still has time to get the Belgium international.
This comes after Trossard inked an odd new contract with Arsenal in the summer of last year. Although the Belgian star’s contract was extended, it still expires in 2027, exactly like it did before. During the summer, clubs abroad as well as Brentford and Aston Villa showed interest in the former Brighton player.
With Trossard’s immediate future secured, Arsenal can keep up their pace with a stable roster. The Belgian’s dual function as a bench-impact player and an experienced alternative gives Arteta more options when switching up his offensive lineup.
This update comes at a crucial time, as the squad’s depth will be put to the test amid a hectic match schedule. Arsenal fans can now concentrate on seeing Trossard play, secure in the knowledge that rumors of his leaving have been decisively dispelled.
