It appears that Kai Havertz’s recuperation from a knee injury has advanced significantly. A setback has kept the Germany international out of action for the past four months, but before the Carabao Cup match against Crystal Palace, he was seen on the turf at London Colney.

Havertz had a knee injury that necessitated a minor treatment after making a brief debut against Manchester United on the first day of the season. He hasn’t played since late November or early December, when it was anticipated that he would return.

Before the victory over Everton, Arteta seemed to allay concerns that he had lately had a setback in his recuperation. The Arsenal manager responded to a question concerning Havertz by saying, “He’s progressing really well and quite fast in the last few weeks. We are quite certain that he will remain with us if things stay the same over the upcoming training sessions.”

Arsenal boost as Arteta confirms Gabriel & Havertz closing in on return

Havertz’s return to training on Monday night seemed to validate Arteta’s remarks. Three images of the 26-year-old at the gym were also shared by the Gunners, along with the phrase, “Step by step.” Arteta will benefit much from Havertz’s timely comeback over the hectic Christmas season, but Piero Hincapie’s absence from the Monday photos has raised new concerns.

In other news, striker Gabriel Jesus is being closely watched following a protracted absence; he is expected to start Tuesday’s Carabao Cup match after several impressive substitute outings. “Yes, he is [ready to start],” Arteta stated. You can now see how much he wants it every day throughout training, not just during games. He will soon deserve a shot.

However, Gabriel Magalhaes, Cristhian Mosquera, Ben White, and Max Dowman are still sidelined, so the Gunners still have some injury setbacks to deal with. Ben White, a defender, will miss some time due to a hamstring injury sustained last week, according to Arteta.
