Joao Felix of Atletico Madrid has apparently received substantial interest from Arsenal, but they are still trailing other teams in the race to recruit him
According to Ben Jacobs, who is heard on the Football Terrace in the video below, there is interest from Arsenal, who have reportedly made contact with the player. However, Paris Saint-Germain appears to be leading the pack right now for the Portugal international.
He continues by saying that the Gunners are still determining the potential value of the transaction, particularly given the possibility of signing Felix on a budget given his desire to leave his current club.
Felix might be a decent alternative for Arsenal to consider strengthening up front after Gabriel Jesus suffered what appears to be a catastrophic injury.
The 23-year-old, who once looked like a tremendous prospect at former club Benfica, hasn’t been at his best during his time in Spain. He has also played brilliantly in the World Cup 2022 where his nation Portugal, unfortunately got knocked out in the quarter finals.
This could turn out to be a good acquisition for Arsenal if manager Mikel Arteta can get Felix back to his best.
