Ilkay Gundogan of Man City may join Arsenal

In an unexpected change of events, Ilkay Gundogan, a seasoned midfielder for Manchester City, has been offered a two-year deal by Arsenal.

Arsenal is presently seen to be a long chance to land the 32-year-old, but the competition is far from done. According to FOOTBALL TRANSFERS, a number of clubs, including Barcelona, AC Milan, and numerous Saudi Arabian teams, have showed interest in Gundogan.

Gundogan’s current deal with City is about to expire, and the odds of an extension seem remote. He could yet choose to stay with the defending FA Cup champions, but a move on a free transfer looks more likely.

Gundogan’s preferred option, according to reports, is Barcelona, who have been pursuing him for some time. Gundogan is thought to be the best replacement for Sergio Busquets in the centre of Barcelona’s midfield, who is set to retire after 15 illustrious seasons as a club icon.

Few players in the league have a resume that compares to Gundogan’s, and the Arsenal club is eager to sign one. His likely inclusion would represent a major victory for the North London team.
