Arsenal emerges as strong contender for Serbian midfield maestro Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Arsenal has emerged as a formidable contender in the race to secure the signature of Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, as reported by TuttoJuve.

The 28-year-old, a long-standing target for Premier League clubs, is currently plying his trade with Al-Hilal, who acquired him for a substantial €40 million from Lazio last summer.

While Juventus is actively exploring a potential deal for the talented playmaker, Arsenal is said to harbor a strong interest and could potentially outbid their Italian rivals.

The Gunners, who acquired Kai Havertz from Chelsea in the previous summer, have seen the German international struggle to make a significant impact in the central midfield role, managing only five goal contributions.

Milinkovic-Savic, a seasoned midfielder with a robust physical presence and a penchant for contributing in the final third, appears to be a promising solution for Arsenal’s midfield conundrum.

With 14 goal involvements in just 22 games for Al-Hilal this season and an impressive record of 11 goals and eight assists in the last campaign with Lazio, the Serbian’s prowess is undeniable.

However, financial constraints may prompt Arsenal to explore creative solutions, potentially proposing a loan deal with an option to buy.

With Financial Fair Play concerns looming, the Gunners might also seek Milinkovic-Savic’s willingness to accept a substantial pay cut, given his current hefty weekly wages of £411,000 in the Saudi Pro League.

As the transfer saga unfolds, Arsenal’s pursuit of Milinkovic-Savic adds an intriguing dimension to the winter transfer market.
