Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat will depart next month, the club has confirmed.
The 46 year old was previously at Borussia Dortmund and joined the North London side in December 2017. He was responsible for the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bernd Leno in the recent past and has also done an enormous job to overhaul the Gunners scouting department.
The head of the talent spotting department has reportedly been at loggerheads with some of the scouts who are reportedly not happy with his handling of managing things.
Added to that the appointment of Raul Sanllehi has been a major hindrance as his vision is clashing with how Mislintat wants to do his things at the club.
Arsenal have issued a statement : “Sven Mislintat will be leaving us on February 8, 2019.
“Sven has been with us since December 1, 2017 and has done a truly outstanding job in helping us recruit players who are making a big impact now and will do so even more in the future.
“We wish him every success for the future and thank him for his extremely hard work on behalf of Arsenal.
The departing recruitment head also added, “It’s been an amazing experience to work at a great club like Arsenal in what has been a big time of change. I am excited about what the future holds for the club and am looking forward to new challenges for myself.”
