Arsenal are growing increasingly concerned over potentially losing Xavier Amaechi this summer.
The promising Academy prospect is reportedly pondering on a move out of the Emirates after being left out of the squad for the Europa League final.
Amaechi travelled with the team to Baku but was left out of the expanded 12-man bench on the final day. This particularly annoyed the 18-year-old who was the only one of the travelling party to be left out.
Amaechi disapproved Unai Emery’s decision to chose goalkeeper, Dejan Lliev above him where there was already Bernd Leno on the bench. This could raise issues between the club and the player as they look to prepare for the upcoming season.
The attacker’s academy teammates, Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith-Rowe and Edward Nketiah, have all gotten a chance to break into the senior side but Emery has yet to give him the same opportunity.
With the situation coming down to this, Amaechi is willing to consider a future away from the Gunners. His contract is due to run out after the next campaign and he is stalling on signing a new one.
Bayern Munich have registered their interests for the winger after their prime target, Callum Hudson-Odoi suffered a long term Achilles injury. This is a troubling matter for Arsenal’s relatively new boss since he is being pressured into improving the first-team with top-pedigree talents.
During a time when the club is in need of wingers, this could be an ideal time for Amaechi to break out but the lack of experience makes him an unqualified candidate for a starting spot. The Gunners might look to raise a decent fee on his sale if they are unable to convince him to stay.
