Arsenal are fighting a host of Premier League outfits to the signing of Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayern Munich is also interested in the winger but Bayer would much rather sell to a Premier League side.
Chelsea’s Frank Lampard is keen on adding Bailey to his ranks for £85m and so is Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp. Manchester United are reportedly keeping an eye on him for a sensational summer move.
Arsenal have also been linked with Leverkusen defender, Jonathan Tah. Signing both Bailey and Tah in the same window is a bit unlikely, given how the Gunners recorded losses for the first timesince 2004.
Mikel Arteta’s primary aim is to return the club to Champions League football but first he will have to address some of the gaping issues within the squad. He got to add Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari in the winter transfer window but only one of them have been seen in action till date.
The Spanish head coach will have to look at certain imbalances in the club ranks, especially in the striker department. Many believe Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s talents are put to waste on the left flank, even if his scoring numbers have been brilliant this season.
Adding more width to this side will probably allow Aubameyang to play in his more preferred position as a centre-forward. Bailey is definitely one to catch the eyes of many with his skill and lighting-fast speed on the ball.
