The Brentford striker is currently serving an eight-month ban for breaching the Premier League’s betting rules.
The ban will run its course in January and Toney will be at the centre of a transfer debacle in the winter window.
The English forward will be a prime target for several Premier League clubs and Arsenal are reportedly leading the chase for the 27-year-old striker.
Ivan Toney would be a huge upgrade to current striking options Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.
The Gunners have made contact with the striker’s entourage and will be hoping to start negotiations with Brentford soon.
Even though Toney will enter the final 18 months of his contract in January, Brentford has slapped a £100m price tag to ward off interest in the transfer window.
But the Bees will likely slash their asking price as they will risk losing him on a free transfer in 2025.
Toney has amassed 68 goals and 21 assists in 124 matches for the Bees in all tournaments.
Arsenal believes Toney would be the player who will ultimately make the difference in the title race this campaign.
