Arsenal are willing to pay more than €40m for Joshua Zirkzee.
Arsenal are showing interest in centre-forward Joshua Zirkzee. The club is in touch with Bologna to register their interest in signing him during this summer’s transfer window.
The Dutchman has been in great form this season. He scored nine goals and registered four assists in 23 appearances in all competitions.
The 22-year-old is also on the radar of Manchester United. Meanwhile, Bologna made it clear that a winter deal would not be possible. Zirkzee is likely to be on the move this summer.
As per Corriere dello Sport, the North London club have made contact with Bologna to push the contract deal to the end of the 2023-24 season.
The report adds that Arsenal are willing to pay more than €40m for the centre-forward. Mikel Arteta is looking for an upgrade on Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus.
Bologna director Marco Di Vaio recently said that the €40m release clause in his contract only applies to Bayern Munich. The Dutchman has a contract with the Serie A club until June 2026.
“Zirkzee had an enormous performance, but so did all his teammates, it is hard to single anyone out. It’s a pity, as I leave here with a strange sensation after the draw, we did everything to win,” said Motta.
