According to recent reports, Arsenal have made ground in their chase for Barcelona midfielder, Denis Suarez.
Both parties clashed over the purposes of a permanent transfer by the end of this very transfer window. Unai Emery is highly eager on signing the Spaniard but also revealed that cash has not been offered to him.
Barcelona, on the other hand, wanted to conclude Denis Suarez’s exit immediately in order to reinvest the transfer fee elsewhere. Now it is being understood that both parties have agreed to compromise.
The Gunners could sign Suarez on a loan deal this January but will have to pay a sum of £18m next summer. Emery will soon be without Aaron Ramsey after this campaign and is strongly considering a player he previously coached to replace the Welshman.
Suarez is also expected to serve as a wingman at the Emirates, a position where Henrikh Mkhitaryan has struggled to perform this campaign. The former is not a traditional winger but is acquainted to the position.
He is skilfull on the ball and is capable of creating his team’s attack. However, even with the 25-year-old’s above-average technical abilities he certainly lacks the pace to be fully effective on the wide areas.
While he could be a wonderful addition into the midfield trio of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira, the jury is still out on how well he will fare for Arsenal under Emery.
