Arsenal missed a number of their regulars during the 1-0 defeat to Everton on Sunday.
The Gunners dropped below Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League standings by one point after the away loss at the Goodison Park. Their poor away form this season continues to hinder their chances of finishing the season in the top four.
Even though Unai Emery’s men are still in the Champions League spots, there are still 6 games left to play this campaign with 4 of them scheduled away from the Emirates.
Arsenal need to be in full strength to somehow overcome Chelsea and Manchester United in the top-four race.
Granit Xhaka and Laurent Koscielny were the absentees this past weekend. The latter has been out since the Europa League tie against Rennes but fans hope to see him return sooner.
Xhaka’s tenth consecutive booking came along with a knock on his thigh during the 2-0 victory over Newcastle United last week. Aaron Ramsey was not fit enough to start the game against the Toffees but could be made available for the game against Napoli.
When asked about the availability of the players, Emery said, “I don’t know. We were waiting to see if Laurent could play today but yesterday morning we knew it wasn’t possible. I want to be positive for Thursday, it depends how he is progressing.
“Xhaka is the same. They are going to be doubts for Thursday. But we have players and can take the performance with all the players.”
Konstantinos Mavropanos is still returning to full game fitness. Rob Holding, Danny Welbeck and Hector Bellerin are out for the remainder of the campaign.
