Arsenal Interested In Bringing In Philippe Coutinho

Arsenal are among four Premier League clubs interested in loaning Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.

Bayern Munich have made it clear that they don’t want to make the Brazilian’s transfer permanent.

The Germans would much rather strike a deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz for that sort of money. Barca are demanding a £100m transfer fee for their initial £142m investment. Coutinho is still a top player in Europe but no one wants to risk that sort of cash in the current scenario.

That is why a loan move seems more likely for the upcoming summer. Coutinho was starting to hit his best form once again with Bayern Munich, scoring 9 goals this season along with 8 assists. Unfortunatley, Hansi Flick has not been able to hand him a starting spot in the current formation.

Arsenal are definitely looking for more creative talent since the arrival of Mikel Arteta. Mesut Ozil has been cast in his most preferred number ten role but the German veteran has failed to impress. Arteta already has a number of players in mind but bringing in Coutinho would a brilliant short-term solution.

The Brazilian is a playmaking genius. He loves to pick up the ball from different areas of the pitch and drive his team’s attack. Coutinho’s creativity and strong ball retention abilities might unlock Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goalscoring threat. The player himself is keen on returning to England and Dani Ceballos’ predicted departure for Real Madrid will open up an optimal spot for him.
