According to reports, Arsenal are interested in Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana. The 22-year old Cameroonian goalkeeper signed for Ajax in 2016 and has been a key player in the club.

This season, Onana has played 37 matches for Ajax, making 14 clean sheets which is the most number of clean sheets in the Eredivisie this season so far.

There have been several reports linking Onana to a move to Barcelona. Onana played in Barcelona’s youth team a few years back and his agent has said that Barcelona are interested in signing him.

The Blaugrana have already confirmed the signing of Frenkie de Jong and are close to signing Matthijs de Ligt. They are keen on bringing in Onana next season too. However, a move to Barcelona might not be very fruitful for Onana as he will most likely play second fiddle to Marc Andre ter Stegen.

Hence, a move to Arsenal might benefit Onana more as the Gunners might prefer him over Bernd Leno. Petr Cech will retire at the end of the season and Arsenal need another goalkeeper. Hence, Onana can be a pretty useful signing for the club.

Other clubs interested in Onana include Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
