According to Calciomercato, Arsenal are keen on making a bid for Gremio defender Walter Kannemann. Unai Emery wants to fortify Arsenal’s squad for next season and feels that the club need a good central defender.
Kannemann has been in fine form for Gremio lately and his performances for the club resulted in a call-up to the Argentina national team. The 28-year old has so far made 5 appearances for Argentina and is also in their provisional squad for the upcoming Copa America.
Kannemann joined Gremio in 2016 and has made 84 appearances for the club so far scoring 3 goals and providing an assist. He has helped the club win 5 trophies so far.
Arsenal are looking to table a bid of £10.5 million for Kannemann which could also have performance-related add-ons.
Kannemann has spent the entire of his career in the Americas and an exposure to European football could also be pretty good for his career. Hence, there is a chance the Argentine could consider moving to Arsenal.
