Following Aaron Ramsdale’s indication that he is prepared to leave Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has started looking for a replacement backup goalkeeper. Prior to Arteta’s unexpected decision to bring David Raya in on loan last summer, Ramsdale was the Gunners’ starting center for two years. Ramsdale was promptly replaced by Raya, and the Spaniard has now been brought back on a permanent basis.

In order to express interest in signing goalkeeper Dan Bentley, Arsenal has gotten in touch with Wolverhampton Wanderers. Arsenal has identified the 30-year-old as a possible backup option. He went to Molineux from Bristol City in January 2023. Wolves would want to reinvest whatever proceeds they earn from the sale of the Englishman rather than part with him.

Even though Bentley is Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper, Nixon claims that he might be open to the move. Regarding Aaron Ramsdale’s future with the team, there is doubt around this endeavour. Although Ramsdale is valued at £50 million by Arsenal, finding a buyer at that amount has proven difficult.

Bentley is expected to enter as the third-choice keeper if a deal is not made. Bentley has experience in the Premier League. This season, he played as a backup for the Wolves and made five appearances, including one against Arsenal.

Moreover, Bentley is a homegrown star who played his formative football at Arsenal from 2001 to 2008 before moving on to play professional football for Southend United. He subsequently played for Championship teams Brentford and Bristol City before rejoining Wolves in the Premier League in 2022.
