According to Gabriel Agbonlahor’s prediction, Arsenal would pursue a trade deal with two other Premier League teams to acquire Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap. Delap only purchased a £20 million transfer from Manchester City to Ipswich in July, but it already appears like he will be leaving at the end of the current campaign.
After being promoted to the Premier League the previous season, Ipswich appears destined for an instant relegation, which would increase the likelihood of Delap leaving. Since joining Ipswich, Delap has made a huge impression, scoring 10 goals in 28 Premier League outings for the Tractor Boys thus far. Agbonlahor, a football commentator, is certain that Delap will depart Ipswich during the upcoming summer transfer window and thinks he might go to Arsenal.
Agbonlahor has stated that Delap would be a natural fit in Arsenal’s starting lineup due to his superiority over current forwards Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz. In contrast, the former Premier League player believes Delap will have a variety of options and may choose to join Tottenham or Liverpool rather than the Gunners.
Arsenal to rival PL clubs in order to sign Ipswich Town starlet
Delap is being pursued by Tottenham, Liverpool, and Chelsea in addition to Arsenal, but Agbonlahor believes he would thrive in the red half of north London.
Sherwood told Sky Sports, “That is a no-brainer for me,” when asked if Delap is a player Mikel Arteta should consider for the future. I placed Delap in front of Watkins, taking into account what Arsenal currently requires. Additionally, Arsenal has been vying for [Benjamin] Sesko, but he is ahead of him.
“Ipswich would already be relegated to the Championship without him. I believe £40 million would now buy him. He’s strong, holds the ball up, and goes deep; under Mikel Arteta, he would really grow and offer Arsenal something new. He knows the league.
In my opinion, he is a no-brainer for Arsenal. Even if Ipswich is demoted, his worth will remain high, almost the same. Arsenal is not interested in spending £40 million on him; he has a bright future.
