According to reports, Tim Steidten is being considered to become the sporting director of Arsenal after Edu resigned a few days ago to join Nottingham Forest. Steidten has been less and less visible at the West Ham training facility, and his brother Moritz’s absence has also been noticeable.

Despite his belief that West Ham was a “five-year project,” the German claimed to have had a falling out with David Moyes and was consequently barred from both the training ground and the dressing room in the latter half of the previous season. He reportedly had problems with Julen Lopetegui and several of the backroom staff after spending £155 million this summer to bring in nine signs.

Sporting directors that Arsenal could pilfer to find a replacement for Edu

After serving in an administrative capacity with Arsenal for more than five years, Edu announced his retirement as Sporting Director on Monday. He is anticipated to accept a reputed threefold pay increase in order to take charge of Evangelos Marinakis’ network of teams, which includes Premier League opponent Nottingham Forest.

So, the focus shifts to who could take Edu’s spot at Arsenal, and Mikel Arteta is probably going to have a big say in that choice. Could someone close to him be the target of Sporting Defectors, who are switching Premier League clubs more frequently these days. In anticipation of an Arsenal raid, these five Premier League prospects might be of interest.
