It is no secret that United want him badly but why has the player sparked Arsenal’s interests? They already have an attacking lineup worth around £180m in Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe.
There is not a single scenario where Haaland can be acquired for cheap in the present market. A rising prospect of his calibre is sure drive up an astronomical sum. It is unlikely that the Gunners with invest that sort of cash when there defence is still the poorest among the top six.
Unai Emery has failed to implement a solid plan into the football club and the results are showing. The Gunners are fifth in the Premier League table with an 8-point gap behind Manchester City.
They are winless in 6 games and are heavily tipped to miss out on this year’s Champions League spots yet again. The Arsenal board has already backed Emery with significant amount of investments without seeing the desired results on the pitch. There is no telling if they are ready to support him any further unless improvements are seen.
