According to football.london, Arsenal are eyeing up a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Christopher Nkunku after talks of a Denis Suarez loan signing broke down earlier this month.
Unai Emery wanted to add the Spaniard to the improve his squad strength in the midfield but unfortunately could not offer the La Liga giants a guarantee of future purchase.
The Spanish boss did bring in five players right upon his arrival to the Emirates, one of which was Matteo Guendouzi from French outfit, Lorient. The 19-year-old has been a revelation for the Gunners this season despite having played zero minutes in the European top flight prior to his move to North London.
Emery has now set his sights on another young French prospect who is who is slowly starting to make a name for himself in the Ligue 1. PSG are reportedly close to finalising a deal for Leandro Paredes from Zenit St. Petersburg which could open up an avenue for Nkunku’s departure.
The report claims that Arsenal would initially sign the 6-time France U21 international on loan for the remainder of this season and will have an option to buy him back for £18m next summer. Like Barcelona, the Parisians might not have such strong demands for a permanent sale.
