According to Fabrice Hawkins, Arsenal has made contact with Eintracht Frankfurt regarding the signing of their star striker, Hugo Ekitike.

After defeating Newcastle United, Arsenal virtually guaranteed their place in the Premier League, securing second place for the third straight season. Although the Gunners have had a successful season—they made it to the Champions League semifinals, no less—they will end this one without winning any hardware.

Mikel Arteta will be well aware that, in spite of all the good work he has done as manager of Arsenal, he hasn’t taken home a major prize since the FA Cup in 2019. It is not surprising that Arsenal is already considering the player market, given that they currently have just one game left in their Premier League season.

As the summer transfer window draws near, the Gunners are determined to acquire a striker. Although Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres is a target for Arsenal, the North London team is reportedly considering other options.

Arsenal wants Ekitike for summer transfer window

Hugo Ekitike, a striker who has been impressive this season, has been linked to a move to Arsenal during the summer transfer window. This season, the forward has been one of the Bundesliga’s best scorers, helping Eintracht Frankfurt secure third place and a Champions League berth.

Arsenal has discussed the potential of a deal with middlemen regarding Ekitike following such a successful campaign. Florian Plettenberg notes that the 22-year-old intends to depart Eintracht Frankfurt this summer in light of this.

However, his club is keen to hold onto him and has set a price of €100 million (approximately £84 million) in case someone is interested.

It undoubtedly increases the likelihood that Arsenal will make the move for the young striker, who has the potential to become a top choice for the team. However, there are still many unanswered questions regarding his appropriateness, cost, and if he would fit in with the Premier League.
