Arsenal Leading The Race For Uruguayan Wonderkid - Termed "New Paulo Dybala"

Arsenal are currently pursuing a deal for Facundo Pellistri as part of their recruitment strategy for the summer.

The teenager has been making waves in Uruguay, breaking out under former Manchester United striker. Diego Forlan.

Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Napoli, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Boca Junior have all been after Facu as well. It was from his club, Penarol where the Galacticos prized Fede Valverde out of. They have no doubt that Pellistri can follow suit after breaking into the scene last year.

Forlan has spoken highly of the teenager, even handing him the number ten shirt prior to the Coronavirus lockdown. Forlan told Fox Sports’ Joga Bonito, “Pellistri has huge potential. There is still a lot to work on. He is growing and he makes a difference. We know it will be difficult to keep him for a long time. He has great pace and that is hard to handle.”

Arsenal are currently in a rebuilding phase. That means picking out next-generation talents like Facundo Pellistri. The Gunners have already recruited top pedigree youngsters in Gabrial Martinelli, William Saliba and Matteo Guendouzi. They also have a string of academy players making their presence felt in the first team.

Reports suggest that Pellistri could be worth as much as £10 million. He is also earmarked to be the next Paulo Dybala with his set of skills pretty similar to the Juventus forward.
