Arsenal legend Santi Cazorla wants to return to Arsenal – but this time to work alongside Mikel Arteta as a coach and hope to take over one day.

He took leave of Arsenal in 2018, and joined Spanish club Villarreal – following a bad injury that had forced him to leave the Emirates.

However, now, the 35-year old is back with another career option – and it’s not a bad one really.

According to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, he wants to come back to Arsenal to try his luck as a football coach and the best place to start would be with his pal Arteta. Cazorla played midfielder alongside Arteta whie his time at Arsenal, while Arsene Wenger was the boss back then.

The 35-year old has scored 8 times and assisted 6 times this season in 24 league appearances

Balague said on his Youtube channel: “It’s interesting because I spoke to Santi not so long ago and he hasn’t renewed his contract with Villarreal which finishes at the end of the season.

“Basically what may happen, he wants two more years playing. Two more years.

“Going back to Arsenal with Arteta is something that I think he will consider as a coach.

“I asked him about it, he said yes, he will consider as a coach when he retires but he wants to play for two more years.

“I tell you what, Mikel Arteta and Cazorla together, really good friends first of all but really good special minds of football.”
