His previous contract was due to expire in the summer of 2024 but the North Londoners finally managed to tie the Brazilian to a new contract.
His rise in the past 18 months under Mikel Arteta’s management has been formidable.
He has scored seven goals in the last 19 top-flight appearances and has featured 110 times for Arsenal since his arrival in 2019.

The North Londoners are five points clear of reigning champions Manchester City in the league table.

“Ours was decent, we had targets,” said Bent. “When you look at the body of work that they have done. They tried to get Mudryk, but it didn’t happen.
“But when you get Trossard, who is a very good player. Jorginho, then there is the centre-half as well. You look at them two, Jorginho and Trossard, two very good signings. It makes the squad stronger. Very strong.
“Then Martinelli, signing that new contract. Massive.”
