Thierry Henry has warned his former club Arsenal that they face a massive battle to finally win the Premier League, naming Manchester City as the major threat.

Henry Warns Arsenal: Man City Are the Title Challengers You Fear

The Gunners legend believes Pep Guardiola’s side are the team nobody wants chasing them in a title race.

Arsenal currently lead the league and aim to end a two-decade championship drought, having finished second for three consecutive seasons.

While the upcoming north London derby against Tottenham is a key fixture, Henry sees a bigger long-term challenge. He points to Manchester City, who have recently found their form after a tactical adjustment period.

Henry expressed his admiration for City’s evolution, noting Guardiola has adopted new methods.

“I never thought he would have allowed his wingers to come inside so early in the build-up,” Henry said.

He highlighted the attacking threat posed by players like Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden, and the “freak” goal-scoring ability of Erling Haaland.

“For an Arsenal fan, that’s exactly the team that you don’t want on your shoulder, because they know how to win,” Henry stated.

He acknowledged it is concerning for Arsenal supporters to see City returning to their best, looking like a team about to go on a run.”

Henry believes Arsenal’s early lead was crucial, but insists the title fight will be a direct battle with the reigning champions.

Ahead of the Tottenham match, Henry also reflected on his own perfect derby record.

During his eight years at Arsenal, he never lost to Spurs. He admitted he initially didn’t grasp the rivalry’s significance but learned from club stalwarts.

“It became a thing for me because I became an Arsenal fan,” Henry said, “and not losing against them is something I’m always going to cherish.”
