Arsenal’s plans to save the 2020/21 season by making a marquee signing in January.
Sevilla’s Juan Jordan is being considered as an answer to their creative problems.
Arsenal finally got two consecutive wins under their belt after Christmans, beating Chelsea and Brighton. They moved up to thirteenth in the table with the fourth spot only nine points away.
Their midfield has been the source of all their problems this season. Granit Xhaka has been poor and Dani Ceballos never really picked up from the good form he picked up last term. Thomas Partey’s injury issues has left Mohamed Elneny to shoulder major games which is just too much for the Egyptian.
Arsenal will need to make changes if they plan on saving themselves this season. Sevilla’s Jordan is thought to be the answer after impressing in Spain. The midfielder played a key role in their Europa League triumph last term.
He has a release clause worth £55m but Sevilla are open to offers below that. Reports claim that Arsenal plan on whisking him away for £32m. Will he solve all of Mikel Arteta’s problem right away? Perhaps not but it will be a step in the right direction.
Arsenal are also scouting several other options in Houssem Auoar, Isco Alcaron and Emi Buendia.
