Despite persistent reports that he is moving to Arsenal, Dan Bentley was left out of the Wolves team announcement. Several of Wolves’ new uniforms for the forthcoming campaign have been shown, although Bentley is nowhere to be seen. The only goalkeepers included are Tom King and Jose Sa. The Gunners have made approaches for the former shotstopper for Brentford and Bristol City.
The Molineux bosses are holding out for at least £1 million; thus, Wolves turned down a third bid from the north London team, thought to be worth about £300k. Bentley’s contract only has a year left on it, but Wolves are only willing to sell if the proceeds can be used to bolster the team.
Mikel Arteta deal could impact three players
The Gunners have made approaches for the former Brentford and Bristol City shotstopper. The Molineux bosses are holding out for at least £1 million, so Wolves may yet make a comeback after turning down a third offer from the north London team that was reportedly worth roughly £300,000. Bentley’s contract is simply expiring, but Wolves are only willing to sell if the proceeds can be used to further strengthen the team.
In light of David Raya’s permanent transfer from Brentford, Arsenal must evaluate their goalkeeping options. Aaron Ramsdale was forced to play off the field for the majority of the season after he established himself as Mikel Arteta’s replacement at number one. Although he has been strongly linked to leaving the Emirates, the England international is unlikely to accept a backup role.
