According to journalist Dean Jones, Gunners are looking at other players with a switch for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.
The North London club have been linked with the Leicester midfielder for a January transfer move, but recent developments indicate that Mikel Arteta may have to move on to other targets to bring to the Emirates Stadium.
Football London report that the Gunners went in for the Belgium international in the summer transfer window, but they were unwilling to match the £25m fee that his current club wanted, so talks broke down.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the central-midfielder is interested in a move to Arsenal as he wants to play Champions League football, but Arteta could now be turning his attention towards other targets.
InterLive reported that the Gunners are plotting a move for Hakan Calhanoglu in a deal that could be worth £26m, who the Express state could be an alternative signing to the Leicester man, while is is also indicated that the likes of Danilo, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ruben Neves may also be considered.
Jones talked to GIVEMESPORT: “Maybe some of it is around the fee, maybe it’s to do with Leicester not wanting to sell there and then.
“Also it’s to do with the fact that Arsenal have got their feelers out and are looking at other players right now, so I still think the Tielemans situation is quite uncertain.“
The 25-year-old only appeared for 30 minutes in Belgium’s shock 2-0 defeat against Morocco. Tielemans could prove to be a very astute signing for Arsenal at the base of their midfield, providing good competition for the likes of Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.
