Arsenal are reportedly looking to cash in on Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah in the summer.
Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar worked closely to get the likes of Mesut Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi and more out of the club in January.
More outgoings are expected to fully balance the squad under Arteta. Both Lacazette and Nketiah will enter the final season of their contracts in June. Neither of the two might be in Arteta’s long-term plans given Lacazette’s age and Nketiah’s slow development.
Lacazette has hit a good patch of form this season but overall he has been underwhelming. Arsenal dished out £45m to sign him from Olympique Lyon in 2017. Just six months later, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came in to grab all the headlines.
Since the Gabon international has been given preference and handed a new contract, it is likely that Lacazette will be moved on. He is 29 now and on a sizeable wage deal for Arsenal to continue on with. There was plenty of interest in him last summer and there is bound to be some in the coming one.
Nketiah, who featured heavily early on during Arteta’s reign has fallen down the pecking order. He has only one goal in 14 league outings this term.
