According to reports, AS Roma star Cengiz Under is Arsenal’s No.1 transfer target. Arsenal scouts have observed the Turkish winger closely this season.
Under has been in fine form for Roma this season so far. In 25 appearances across all competitions, the 21-year old has scored 6 goals and has provided 9 assists.
With the possibility of Mesut Ozil leaving the club, Arsenal need a suitable forward and Under seems a very good option.
However, it’s doubtful if Arsenal will have sufficient funds for Under. There were reports that Arsenal only have £40 million to spend in the summer. This is definitely not going to be enough to buy a player like Under.
Roma will certainly refrain from selling him but if they will, they’ll definitely demand a hefty sum from the Gunners.
However, Arsenal’s transfer budget might go high if they qualify for the Champions League. The Gunners have a good chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season as they are currently 4th in the league table.
