Arsenal is said to have contacted Xavi Simons over his desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Although Xavi Simons’ future is still up in the air, L’Equipe reports said that he now feels PSG cannot provide him with the proper atmosphere to further his growth.
According to the French publication, PSG has received approaches from Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich regarding a sale. However, PSG is probably cautious because PSV would get the majority of any transfer price this summer. Simon’s deal with PSV to return to PSG had a provision allowing PSV to keep the majority of the proceeds from any sales made before January 2025.
It is more probable that individuals who can play across the front line will be pursued during the summer transfer window; therefore, the Gunners are looking at a flexible forward rather than an all-around attacker. Paris Saint-Germain star Xavi Simons is one of these players. In his season-long loan with RB Leipzig, the 21-year-old played alongside Sesko, notching 15 assists and 10 goals.
Arsenal and Manchester United are rumoured to be interested in signing him, and PSG will likely want around £51 million to sell him this summer. But because of a provision they worked out with PSV, the French champions are only looking to loan the player. Arsenal would prefer a permanent move, and it’s unclear if they’ll extend a loan offer to the 21-year-old.
