The VAR cost Arsenal two points in the Brentford game last weekend.

The Gunners drew 1-1 against Brentford as the Bees made a late equaliser despite Christian Norgaard being clearly offside.

Norgaard who assisted the goal of Ivan Toney had come back from an offside position.

The goal was allowed to stand and the result left Arsenal just three points away from Manchester City.

This midweek game against Manchester City at the Emirates will decide who secures the top spot in the league table.

Manager Mikel Arteta was clearly not impressed with the PGMOL’s decision of calling it a ‘human error’.

Arteta said: “We ended the game with a huge anger because that wasn’t a human error, that was a big not understanding your job, and that’s not acceptable. That costs Arsenal two points.

“We appreciate the apology and the explanation at the same time. That’s it. We have to move on. That has made the players, staff and our fans stronger to pass this hurdle that they put on us.”

“I will only be satisfied if they give me the two points back which is not going to be the case,” he added.
