Arsenal are linked with Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz who is in great form in Premier League. He took Aston Villa to the top three of the top-flight table. The Gunners are planning to make a new bid for the player.
The North London club planned this move in the summer of 2022 but Aston Villa rejected the bid. The Toffees refused their offers twice as they wanted a bigger amount for the Brazilian.
Luiz is also on the radar of top European clubs and Aston Villa can take advantage of this. He has become a pivotal figure for Aston Villa. He has been outstanding in the midfield role.
His great form allowed Arsenal to rethink their plan to sign the Brazil international. It could be challenging for Villa to agree to the sale of this player midway through the season. His contract will end in two years.
As per reports, Arsenal can break their transfer record to secure Luiz. They recently signed Declan Rice for a record transfer fee. However, the Gunners club could potentially sign him for a lower fee if he doesn’t extend his contract by the end of the season.
