Gunners had submitted a £60 million offer for Moises Caicedo.
Arsenal are taking their full chance on signing Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo, Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor has spoken to GiveMeSport.
The North London club are attempting to get a last-minute deal over the line for the midfielder as manager Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad for the second half of the season.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Gunners had submitted a £60 million offer for the 21-year-old after Chelsea had previously seen a £55 million bid turned down.
Transfer insider Dean Jones has since informed GMS that Brighton will not allow their midfielder to depart unless their £80 million valuation is met, meaning Arsenal will have to significantly improve their offer.
In an interview with GMS, he said: “We have no reason not to believe Brighton won’t buckle, and they do notoriously stand firm on their price tag.
“So, Arsenal aren’t giving up, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a third bid, so that could make things interesting.”
Caicedo is a defensive-minded midfielder and he has notched up two goal contributions in 21 appearances across all competitions for Brighton this season.
