Arsenal now favourites to sign Declan Rice this summer

Arsenal are now front-runners in signing the West Ham captain.

The England international is expected to make a move away from the London Stadium with some top Premier League teams interested in him.

Clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the midfielder who has decided to not extend his contract with the Hammers.

Mikel Arteta will prioritise some midfielder acquisitions in the summer and Rice is now the Spaniard’s top target.

Rice is an ideal player in Mikel Arteta’s system who would easily break into the first-team.

But the England international won’t come at cheap as West Ham values their most prized midfielder at £85m or above.

The former Chelsea youth product has contacted people at Arsenal to know about what life is like playing football in North London.

“I can’t reveal my source,” Clarke began. “But I do know that Declan Rice has been sounding out people connected with Arsenal in regards to, ‘What’s it like there? What’s it really like?’, so that sounds like a positive.”
