Arsenal are reportedly offering Matteo Guendouzi in a swap deal for a quality midfielder.
Mikel Arteta seem to have given up on the French youngster after several altercations behind the scenes.
Guendouzi has now been left out of four matchday squads after his conduct against Brighton & Hove Albion nearly handed him an official ban. Both he and Mesut Ozil have become to excess to Arteta’s needs and are ready to be moved on.
Speaking to The Conv3rsation, David Ornstein said, “Matteo Guendouzi, I think it looks like his time at Arsenal is coming to an end,” Ornstein said. “Arsenal are offering him in exchange for players they might like to come in, in swap deals.
“If they as a club think they can bring in money, significant money, or a big swap deal, then clearly that’s something they’ve thought through. As things stand, I think there’s a good chance he’ll be leaving.”
Guendouzi’s value skyrocketed ever since he came in from the Ligue 2 for £8 million. He showed a lot of promise and guile early on to draw attention from other European outfits. While Arteta refuses to include him in his plans with Arsenal, it would definitely lower his price in the transfer market.
The best option now would be to sell Guendouzi or use him as an exchange piece. Signing a player like Thomas Partey could cost over £50m and the Frenchman’s exit would help secure a move quicker.
