Arsenal are one of the two strongest contenders for Real Madrid outcast, James Rodriguez.
Zinedine Zidane has no plans on implementing the Colombian back into the Galacticos lineup and has reportedly told him to look for a different home.
Rodriguez finished out his loan spell with Bayern Munich and is currently being heavily linked with the Gunners and Serie A champions, Juventus. The Bianconeri are plotting to sign the 27-year-old as a potential replacement for Paulo Dybala, who has notified the club about his wishes to leave.
BeIN SPORTS claim that Real Madrid are willing to eat a chunk of the €75m they paid for Rodriguez to shift him out of the Bernabeu this summer. He is being offered up for only €35m (£30.85m) with two years still left on his deal with the La Liga giant.
Rodriguez was previously linked with a move to the Emirates but Unai Emery could not finalise a deal due to serious financial restrictions. Now, the latest reports claim that the Gunners are planning to move both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil out of the club which would clear up space for a marquee replacement like Rodriguez.
However, many would agree that the former AS Monaco player could be a gamble right now. Since his enigmatic run from 2013 to 2015, in the world cup and in his debut season with the Los Blancos, Rodriguez has lost his spark on the pitch. He somehow seems to be the lesser version of himself, the blame for which can be placed on Zidane’s lack of confidence in him.
The attacking midfielder has struggled with form in the Bundesliga as well being restricted to 28 appearances this season.
