Arsenal fans might be excited to hear about the manager they have chosen to go after now, in comparison to their last candidates.
Reports claim the Gunners are planning to sweep up Wolves boss, Nuno Espirito Santo as Unai Emery’s replacement.
The Portuguese tactician has done impressive work with the Wanderers, earning promotion with the side and immediately turning them into European contending side. Wolves are currently fifth in the Premier League table and are also second in the Europa League squad after qualifying for the tournament.
Santo has been aided by a string of investment from the Wolves hierarchy but he has maintained a strong level progression. Emery, on the other hand, has completely headed Arsenal towards the opposite direction even after being awarded a heavy-spending summer transfer window.
The Gunners are slowly sliding down the Premier League table, currently in 8th spot after failing to win in their last 6 games. Emery is most likely to get sacked by the end of this season but the names picked to be his replacement has not convinced the fans.
Mikel Arteta is inexperienced and so is Freddie Ljungberg and Steve Bould. Massimiliano Allegri is the only name that stands out but Mauricio Pochettino is already written off because of his prior relationship with North London rivals, Tottenham.
