Arsenal are monitoring the situation of Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey. They made scouting for the Frenchman over the summer.
Galatasaray defender was strongly linked with a move to the Emirates for the 2023-24 season. However, the North London club instead struck a £38.5m deal with Ajax for Jurrien Timber.
Jurrien Timber was brought in to play as a right-back, despite his central exploits in the Netherlands’ top flight. He made his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest but suffered an injury due to an ACL injury.
Timber is now at risk of missing the remainder of the season. Arsenal have Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Cedric Soares available to play on the right.
Cedric is expected to leave Emirates when his deal expires in the summer, while Tomiyasu has struggled to stay fit since joining from Bologna in 2021.
Thomas Partey was also tried as a right-back at the start of the season, but he failed to impress. Sacha Boey could be a good addition to Arsenal’s defence.
The 23-year-old has made 17 appearances this season, scoring one goal in a Champions League draw with Copenhagen. He also played a full 90 minutes in a 3-2 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
