Arsenal are reportedly hopeful of signing Fabian Ruiz from Napoli in a £16m deal this summer.
Gunners are looking for a potential midfielder for Arteta. Mohamed Elneny’s contract will expire soon and they might also lose Granit Xhaka who is already on Roma’s radar.
Kalvin Phillips and Sergi Roberto have both been linked with moves to Arsenal.
The Mirror claims that Arsenal have been alerted to Ruiz’s availability after the 25-year-old rejected the chance to extend his Napoli deal beyond 2023.
The report also adds that Arsenal representatives have already been in touch with Ruiz’s entourage, with a fee of £16m likely to be enough to prise him away from the Serie A side.
Mikel Arteta is said to be an admirer of Napoli midfielder but he has to face the task from Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old Serie A player netted five goals and registered three assists from 20 Serie A appearances for Napoli this season. It cost the Italian giants £27m upon his arrival from Real Betis in 2018.
