Inter Milan and Napoli are monitoring the Spaniard as well, who is projected to be worth around £25m after the season he just had.
The Magpies have greatly benefitted off of Perez’s services for the past 5 years. The 25-year-old scored 12 times in 37 Premier League appearances to help his team finish in the thirteenth spot.
Perez came into the Tyneside outfit as a raw speedy element but he has developed into a fine secondary striker. Not only does he have a ridiculous work rate but he has a unique ability to find open spaces on the offensive end.
Perez is also highly versatile on the attacking front. With his pace and touch of the ball, the Spaniard can be asked to play wide, in the number ten spot or even as a centre-forward.
Arsenal already have an elite attacking force filled by Golden Boot winner, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. With Danny Welbeck leaving the Emirates this June, Unai Emery will need to find a backup option as well as the right pieces to surround the strikers with.
In the current circumstances of high financial restraint, Perez can be a cheap and yet effective option for the Gunners.
