The Turkish side sees him as an ideal candidate

Danny Welbeck joined Arsenal from Manchester United for a reported fee of £16 million, signing a long term deal back in 2014. He made a total of 142 appearances, scoring 29 goals for the Red Devils before leaving Old Trafford.

However, the England International has struggled to be a regular for the Gunners since joining them and has been often played out of his position, in the left flank to stretch out the game.

The 27 year old managed to make 28 Premier League appearances last season, scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists. But the Premier League giants struggled last season and finished outside the top 4 for the second consecutive season.

The striker though got a place in the England World Cup squad in this year’s World Cup. He featured mostly as a substitute in the matches but the Three Lions reached the semi-finals.

The player’s future has come into question since the last season when the London Outfit completed the signing of Alexandre Lacazatte last summer and Pierre Aubayemeng during the January Transfer Window.

He returned from his post-World Cup break straight into speculation that he could be let go with suggestions the 27-year-old could be offloaded to the continent.

Unai Emery, however, says his versatility impressing the new boss in their first week together.

“I said to Danny when he arrived with us after the holidays, I want the best performance of his career and he should work for that,” said the Spaniard.

But with the European transfer window still open, he can still leave the club and even the 46 year old hinted few players will leave this month.

Galatasaray have made Welbeck a top target before the close of the transfer window, but the striker does not want to move, AMK reports.

The Turkish giants hope to invest the money received for Champions League qualification and see him as an ideal candidate.
