He has struggled for minutes due to his never-ending injuries at Arsenal and is expected to make a move to Saudi Arabia in the January transfer window.

Mohamed Elneny is one of Arsenal players going to Africa Cup of Nations (Egypt)
Mohamed Elneny is going to AFCON 2023 and will play for Egypt
Mohamed Elneny is one of Egypt’s most experienced players with 89 Arsenal appearances to his name but he made only five appearances for Arsenal last season. This is Elneny’s fourth AFCON as he was a part of Egypt’s squad for the previous AFCON in 2021. The Arsenal midfielder opened the scoring for Egypt in the final against Cameroon in 2017 which they eventually lost.
The veteran midfielder has been a loyal servant to the club but is expected to make a move this January. Elneny sustained an injury in the game against PSV but would return before the AFCON 2023 commences. His contract with Arsenal expires next summer and it’s unlikely Arsenal would want to extend.
