Reports suggest that the midfielder’s services could be acquired for as little as £13 million. He is currently serving a year-long loan spell with Celta Vigo.
Rafinha has made 22 appearances this term and scored twice. He has failed to break into the Barcelona senior side ever since he graduated from the team’s academy, spending majority of the time either on the bench or out on loan to Inter Milan and Celta. At 27, you can expect the Brazilian’s patience to have run thin and a permanent move out of Camp Nou imminent.
Arsenal are in a prime position to offer him more playing time in his more preferred role. He can play from deep and incidentally replace the departing Dani Ceballos in the upcoming term. Mikel Arteta has been instructed to find technical players who will better fit the current squad and Rafinha will be a bargain.
Inter refused to sign him permanently for €35 million at the back of short loan spell in 2018. But now, they have rekindled their interest in him. A potential swap could be arranged if they do end up selling Lautaro Martinez to Barca. The Catalan giants are looking to force any avenues to get their hands on the Argentine forward. They are also looking to offload a number of talents this summer, especially fringe players like Rafinha.
